2017,2018年と現地開催した、フィリピン、セブから第11回国際紅白歌合戦にCEBU MUSIC LEARNING CENTERがオンライン参加

世界的なビーチリゾート、あるいは、語学留学先ととしても全世界の若者から注目のセブだが、日本人の語学留学先としても、近年は人気が高い。本格的な長期留学やワーキングホリディーの準備先としても、格安で、同じアジア圏で文化的にも似ている『セブ留学』を選ぶ人も今後ももっと増えるであろう。そのような場所で、国際紅白歌合戦を継続して行われることは、意味深い。現地に暮らす日本人は英語やタガログ語で歌い、フィリピン人は日本語で歌う『国際紅白歌合戦』が定期的に行われれば、現地の日本人コミュニティーとフィリピン社会の相互理解に役立つであろう。

今回は、大阪で介護の仕事に就きながら、思い出の日本語の曲を仲良し4人で歌うフィリピンの女性グループが参加する。その様子は、国際紅白歌合戦TOPページでライブ配信される（http://irws.org）

The CEBU MUSIC LEARNING CENTER, which hosted the International Red and White Singing Festival(IRWS) locally in 2017 and 2018, will be participating online in the 11th edition from Cebu, Philippines.ーー

In Cebu, IRWS was held in 2017 and 2018, creating significant local buzz, especially when outstanding performers were invited to Japan. This year, we're connecting online with CEBU MUSIC LEARNING CENTER,  to showcase the exchange between Japan and the Philippines through music. Additionally, we plan to resume local events in August 2024. It's truly heartening to see the flourishing cultural exchange through the love of singing among the people in the Philippines.

Cebu, a world-famous diving resort has gained attention from young people worldwide. In recent years, not only as a diving destination but also as a language learning spot, more Japanese students are choosing Cebu over Western countries. It's becoming a popular choice for extended language studies and preparations for working holidays due to its affordability and cultural similarities within the Asian region. Hosting IRWS in such a place holds significant meaning.

Filipinos have a strong passion for singing, so IRWS will be accepted as a regular singing event promoting mutual understanding between the local Japanese community and Filipino society.  Japanese residents sing in English or Tagalog, while Filipinos sing in Japanese in IRWS, this is to show respect for different cultures. IRWS might have the potential to increase Japanese fans in the future and serve as a catalyst for considering Japan as a destination for study or work.

This time, a group of Filipino women working as caregivers in Osaka will be participating. While working, they come together to sing cherished Japanese songs as a group of close friends. You can catch their performance live on IRWS official page
